Lbf, kgf, and the mass confusion

Searches like lbf to kg, 1 lbf berapa kg, or n to kg converter often mix force with mass. On Earth's surface, an object weighing 1 lbf has mass ≈ 0.454 kg — but that depends on gravity; force and mass are not the same quantity.

Force (this page): N, lbf, kgf, kN — straight push/pull. Torque (N·m, ft·lb): force applied at a distance on a wrench or shaft. Torque = force × radius only when force is perpendicular to the lever arm.

If you need nm to ft lbs or ft lb to nm, that is unit conversion between torque labels — use the Torque Converter, not this force tool. Converting lbf to N·m without a lever length is dimensionally incomplete.
